By now the news has spread far and wide, Leonard Nimoy passed way today. Though he had a long and distinguished career as an actor, director and screenwriter, Leonard Nimoy is know best as Mr. Spock. One of the most endearing aspects of Leonard Nimoy’s career has been his continued participation in nerdy media. His appearance in Star Trek
both legitimized J.J. Abrams’ reboot and connected the film to the stories that came before it. In a world where it’s more common for a reboot to disavow any knowledge of its predecessors, it was a unique and greatly appreciated moment.
Leonard Nimoy was a brilliant artist, but he loved his fans enough to never turn his back on his most beloved role. The proof is in his signature Twitter sign off: LLAP (Live Long And Prosper).
Thank you for being our first and favorite Vulcan, Mr. Nimoy.
A life is like a garden. Perfect moments can be had, but not preserved, except in memory. LLAP
